Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 4/14/2018 @ 8:25 p.m.Funeral services are set for a Huntington firefighter who died in a car accident. John Lambert, 27, a probationary firefighter with the Huntington Fire Department, died Thursday morning from injuries sustained in the crash. It happened around 8 a.m. in the Barboursville area.According to the Fire Fighters of Huntington WV Facebook page, visitation will be held 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday April 17 at Koontz Funeral Home in Hamlin, W.Va. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 17 at noon at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin ,W.Va. Interment will follow at Lambert and White Family Cemetery. Lambert was not on duty at the time of the crash. He had been with the HFD since September 2017.Lambert was from Ranger, West Virginia and a 2009 graduate of Lincoln County High School.Lambert loved to hunt and fish and was also taking EMT classes to become a certified EMT.UPDATE 4/12/18 @ 1:45 p.m.A Huntington firefighter involved Thursday morning in a head-on crash on Cyrus Creek Road has died, the city of Huntington says.John Lambert, 27, of Ranger, West Virginia, a probationary firefighter with the Huntington Fire Department, died Thursday morning from injuries suffered in the crash.
